Every year on the first weekend of June, the Connecticut Forest and Park Association sponsors “Connecticut Trails Day.” On Saturday, June 1, the WPA co-hosted a nature walk at the former Country Club of Woodbridge as part of this statewide event. Our walk was led by Andrea Urbano, a CT DEEP forester, and Corrie Folsom-O’Keefe, a bird protection educator from Audubon CT. We learned about the importance of shrubland habitat and native pollinator plants for supporting the health of our local wildlife. Thank you to the Woodbridge Land Trust and the Woodbridge Recreation Department for co-sponsoring this fun, educational program with us.
